Jared E. Lloyd, Renshi
Jared Lloyd, Renshi is the owner and head instructor at Lloyd’s Okinawan Karate in Wendell, NC. Jared began his martial arts training at the age of 10 years old in Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo (Odo Lineage) and achieved the rank of 5th degree black belt under Charles Mann, Hanshi. After training for some time in Okinawa Kenpo, he met Bill “Old Student” Hayes, Shinshi, 9th Dan of Shobayashi Ryu at a Shobayashi-Kan gasshuku. Bill Hayes, Shinshi is a first generation student of the late Eizo Shimabukuro, Hanshi, 10th Dan, and Director of the Shobayashi-Kan Kenkyu Kai. Hayes, Shinshi had several tours as a Marine during Vietnam that not only stationed him on Okinawa, Japan but also allowed him to closely train with his teacher, O’Sensei, Eizo Shimabukuro. Lloyd, Sensei was amazed by what he felt, saw and experienced and knew that Hayes, Shinshi was someone who was rare, unique and special. Jared continued to travel to train with the Shobayashi-Kan and became a full member of the research society in November of 2016. Lloyd, Sensei continues to deepen his studies in Shobayashi Ryu under the direction of Bill Hayes, Shinshi and other senior members of the Shobayashi-Kan.
Michal Lempicki, Senpai
Michal Lempicki, Sensei is currently Senpai (Senior Student) at Lloyd’s Okinawan Karate. Michal-san began his martial arts training at the age of 12 in Shorinjiryu Kenryukan Karate in Brooklyn, NY and earned his brown belt. Six years later Michal’s family moved forcing him to take a break from actively training on a daily basis at a dojo. However, the desire to keep learning and training was still present and he continued to train on his own during this time. In 2013, Michal-san and his family moved to Zebulon, NC where he actively sought out a dojo. After several failed attempts, he met Jared Lloyd, Sensei and two began to train together for several years. In 2017 Michal-san earned the rank of Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) under Jared Lloyd, Sensei. Michal-san regularly teaches and assists with all youth and adult classes at Lloyd’s Okinawan Karate.
